A Sick Scam

Postby Boss on Sat Dec 15, 2007 1:46 am

Anyone receiving e-mails that have been forwarded, where someone claiming to have a sick child with a killer disease, says AOL and Zdnet, track the forwards, and donate 32 cents per forward to charity, should not forward it.

This is a sick hoax. This George Arlington, (who can be found googling their name), is a faker. The child has a differing age range, no Leukaemia or Cancer charities endorse this, and neither AOL, nor Zdnet, can track e-mail forwarding.

If you forward it, your e-mail can appear in a long list of others, and someone somewhere might decide to use your details, to attempt hacking, impersonations of you, create fake internet accounts, or sign you up for marketing stuff, newsletters, e-zines etc etc.

If you get any such e-mail, I suggest you Google the name George Arlington, find a site explaining the hoax, then forward the mail back the other way, with a link to the site that explains the hoax, so people can read the truth.

Such hoaxes, can compromise things like an e-mail address, and / or I.P. Stay safe yeah :).

What a disgusting thing to do. Shame the internet gets corrupted by such people and the things they do. Personally I never read things from people/sites I don't know.

Like Boss said, stay safe : >

Thank Boss Man for the info. I also heard… If you help send those around, they receive money for every e-mail you sent it to…
I’m not sure if that’s true… But stay safe and Delete it!!

Its just a sick chainletter to see how many people pass on the e-mail, from personal experience I just delete any e-mail from a person I dont know if it contains the work 'forward'.
