hi all,

Which of the method do you use for cardio..simple running, biking or things like Tabata pullups, cleans or you do not do them at all. Personally I like cardio and like the feeling of pushing myself to extreme..

I do a mix of all sorts.

I do something called Boxercise, which is kind of like a cross between boxing and circuit.

I do Exercise bike sometimes, and the rest of it is mostly walking.

Obviously do weights, but I tend not to call that Cardio.

I used to do 5k runs daily, but swans05 gave me advice and now I do sprints and intervals (20 minutes of 1 min hard, 1 min easy) 3 days per week. :thumb:

I'm a long distance runner. Some days I do long runs, some days short, some days speed work. I also hike, kayak, and bike.

Cool. I do a combo too. Anything from walking my dog around the park, to mountain biking, to HIIT at the gym. I also like doing circuit training with light weights and bodyweight exercises. That places an entirely new demand on the cardiovascular system.

Yes sprinting is good, though I only do them on a the elip machine. You could try doing lunges and push ups at every stop to make it more challenging for like 3 sprint pushup/lunge cycle then walk and recover, and repeat.

my mantr is if you don't need to actually run for something such as sport or competition running, than conditioning through wts as nitecrawler suggested is the way to go

not only do you get a "cardio" effect (hate that term) but you stimulate muscle growth at the same time where with traditional cardio your more than likely using muscle

This is where I run for cardio - round and round, up and down. But when the mornings and evenings get dark I go back in the gym
